Replace the standard shell on a synthetic down alternative pillow insert purchased with this order with an outdoor non-woven shell. 

   1 Outdoor non-woven shell upgrade
+ 1 synthetic down alternative insert
+ 1 outdoor throw pillow cover
= 1 outdoor throw pillow that is sumptuously plump, holds a karate chop, and lets you sink into your favorite patio sofa while still feeling supported.

Synthetic down alternative inserts and indoor-outdoor throw pillow covers are sold separately—shop throw pillow inserts and designer throw pillow covers.

This is a shell-replacement service, not an additional shell, throw pillow cover, or standalone pillow insert.

The original standard polyester-cotton blend shell on our synthetic down alternative pillow insert is replaced with a 100% polypropylene non-woven shell. Shell replacement means our favorite synthetic down alternative throw pillow inserts can be used with outdoor throw pillow covers in covered outdoor spaces. For uncovered outdoor spaces, we recommend an outdoor poly-fill insert, available by request, and bringing pillows in or covering them between uses.

Shell replacement is not available for 95/5 feather down throw pillow inserts.

  • • 12x36-inch, 14x36-inch, 16x48-inch extra-long lumbar pillow covers for statement-making pieces on beds, benches, wide sofas, and settees

  • • Bolster pillows in a range of sizes

Shell replacement is only available for our synthetic down alternative inserts purchased at the same time as the shell replacement upgrade.

Add one upgrade for each pillow insert you want upgraded.

When ordering multiple pillow insert sizes, specify the insert size and quantity you want to upgrade in your order instructions.
Example: Upgrade two 22×22-inch synthetic down alternative inserts; keep standard shell on 14×22-inch synthetic down alternative insert.

 

Pillow inserts typically ship in 1-2 weeks. Pillow inserts and throw pillow covers may ship separately. 

For pillow inserts ordered with semi-custom or fully custom throw pillow covers, we often hold off on shipping inserts until the throw pillow covers are made so that we can assess fit and sizing—especially important for unique dimensions. When you Customize Our Pillow Designs, your semi-custom throw pillows will typically be ready in 2-4 weeks from when the design modifications are approved. The timeline for Custom Throw Pillows Made with Your Fabric or Ours is similar. Customer's Own Material (COM) projects and projects requiring sourced materials begin timing once we receive everything in our studio.

Throw pillow inserts, especially custom-sized inserts or inserts with shell upgrades, may be ordered or made just for you—we don’t accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations.
