It’s heavier and more supportive than our feather down at any given size, hypoallergenic, and machine washable. Want to use it on a screened porch or other covered outdoor space? What Size Throw Pillow Insert Do You Need?

We typically recommend inserts 2 to 4 inches larger than your throw pillow cover—fuller than most insert manufacturers suggest, and the insider secret to that plump, high-end designer look. For covers smaller than 20x20-inch, 2 inches larger is plenty. Our 22x22-inch insert fits 20x20-inch pillow covers, and our 24x24-inch insert fits 20x20-inch and 22x22-inch pillow covers. For lumbar pillows, the right insert depends on how you’ll use the pillow and whether you like it overstuffed or on the slimmer side.

Feather Down or Down Alternative?

Clients often love the classic feel of feather down. We prefer synthetic down alternative because it has the benefits of down without the limitations: no feathers poking through, hypoallergenic, and machine washable. It can also be made with an outdoor shell for covered porches.
