Schedule a Studio Visit or Consultation
with Greensboro's
Custom Throw Pillow Maker
& Fabric Consultant
Browse designer fabrics and handcrafted throw pillows in our Greensboro studio—or
schedule a consultation from anywhere.
Quick Links—Jump to what you need:
Whether you're scheduling a studio visit to browse designer home décor fabrics and handcrafted throw pillows or a consultation to plan a custom project—this is where we start figuring it out together. Consultations aren't add-ons for us—they're how we work. We source fabrics, evaluate performance, design pieces, and handcraft everything in our Greensboro studio. That integrated approach means our insights come from actually making thousands of custom throw pillows as well as bedding, window treatments, and seat cushions over 20+ years—not from manufacturer claims, but from seeing how materials hold up in real homes with real families.
We start with your situation, not a template:
- •Where will it live?
- •Who uses the space?
- •What's already in the room?
The answers determine fabric options, sizing, and finishing details—recommendations built around your actual life, not standard design rules.
Already have fabric?
Bring Your Own Fabric—we assess Customer's Own Material (COM) for suitability for your intended use before accepting any project.
We love seeing the fabric you bring and discovering what's possible with it—and we're equally happy helping you find fabric that stands up to your lifestyle while looking even better than you imagined.

Working with Us Remotely:
What to Send Before
Your Fabric or Design Consultation
Tell us what you have in mind and when you can, show us with photos or even a simple hand-drawn sketch. Share details about your current décor and situation—kids, pets, daily use patterns, sun exposure, entertaining style, and any functional issues you want to address (fading fabrics, unsupportive throw pillows or seating, etc.).
The more context you share before your consultation, the more productive our time together will be. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out—many remote clients start with just photos and questions.
The most important thing: photos and videos.
Sending Photos or Short Videos?
—send photos and videos separately to melissa@melissacreechdesigns.com
(reference your scheduling request so we can connect them)
Photos are invaluable for understanding scope, scale, and details that are difficult to describe in words. Short video walkthroughs that pan around your space—with or without your narration—give us a genuine, three-dimensional feel of the room and any adjoining rooms.
Share photos, videos and reference materials—help us see your space:
- • Photos of your space from multiple angles, capturing existing furnishings, and décor elements (including window treatments, rugs, and artwork)
- • Photos of specific furniture pieces needing throw pillows, bedding, cushions, skirting/covering, or seat bottoms needing reupholstering
- • Straight-on shots
- • Up-close shots showing relevant details
- • Images of the sides, back, or underside when relevant
- • Photos of adjoining rooms if you're wanting to create a cohesive look across open floor plans or connected spaces
- • Paint color references, fabric swatches, or trim samples from existing décor—send us photos and we’ll let you know if and when we need you to send physical swatches and samples to us
- • Anything that shows the colors, patterns, and textures in your space or that you want to have in your space—a throw pillow, cushion, arm cover, drapery tieback, or even a piece of artwork. Sherwin-Williams
color names or numbers work well for color matching. Clients have sent photos of faux flowers, blankets, and pieces of clothing that capture the colors they have or want in their room. If it captures your color story, send a photo of it. - • Share inspirational photos if you have them—Pinterest saves, mood boards, magazine clippings, anything that shows the direction you're considering
For any fabric or trim you're considering or want evaluated—new purchases, designer remnants, leftover yardage from previous projects, vintage textiles, or sentimental materials you want repurposed:
- • Send photos—photos showing pattern overall as well as up close shots showing texture or relevant finer details
- • Provide a brief description of your fabric or trim, whether it is a new purchase or how you came to acquire it, and whether it has any known quality issues
- • Provide any of the following if you know it:
• Manufacturer
• Pattern Name
• Color
• Vertical Repeat
• Horizontal Repeat
• Railroaded or Up the Roll
- • Yardage—even approximate yardage is better than none. Final quotes require exact measurements.
Include measurements if you have them—beneficial but not required
- • Furniture dimensions (sofas, beds, seating)
- • Existing throw pillows and/or pillow inserts
- • Even approximate dimensions are better than none. Final quotes require exact measurements.
Most importantly: Send your questions and ideas.
We'll handle the rest.
Already have fabric, trim or other materials you want to use?
For any materials you already have, we'll provide a preliminary assessment of their suitability for your intended use, check
yardage, and tell you what we can make with what you have before you ship anything to us.
We also indicate whether and how supplementary materials would expand your options. If you need additional materials, we can source them through our in-studio collection and trade-level connections.
→ Before shipping: Use our Fabric Quality Evaluation Cheat Sheet to inspect your fabric first—covers quality indicators, yardage requirements, pattern matching, and when remnants and seconds are worthwhile.
→ See Bring Your Own Fabric or Customer's Own Materials (COM) Services for Interior Designers for details on our Customer's Own Material (COM) evaluation process and what we can make with fabric you provide.
A Note on Material Liability: While we handle all materials with professional care, we cannot be held liable for damage to Customer's Own Materials during assessment, fabrication, or storage. We advise insuring valuable or irreplaceable materials before shipping them to our
studio. This is industry-standard practice for Customer’s Own Material (COM)
services.
