A New Location for Melissa Creech Designs

Jan 27, 2025

Melissa Creech Designs has a new location!

We're so excited to announce that we've found a new local home for our custom-made decorative and designer throw pillows.

Beginning in March 2025, our beautiful pillows will be available locally at Martin's Mercantile in Summerfield, North Carolina.

Martin's Mercantile, which opened in late 2024, is the perfect place to soak in local charm, browse our pillows along with a lovely collection of curated gifts, catch up with a friend, and even sign up for a hands-on workshop.

Lauren Cox, owner of Martin's Mercantile, says, "I really want to be a lifestyle location. Somewhere you can stop by and grab something for your home, your friend, yourself. Run in real quick. Stay for a while. Spend a bunch! Yes, please. Or be budget minded. I am here for it all!"

With the closing of Aubrey Home, the reaction I heard most from customers and design clients was disappointment at Greensboro losing yet another favorite business. Then repeatedly I heard unwavering and enthusiastic encouragement like:

"Melissa, you've got to find a local place where you can sell your pillows. I've got to know to where you're going to be."

And questions like: "Where can we find you and your pillows?"

I'm so thankful to have found Martin's. I owe a big thanks to my friend, Debbie Brown, President/owner of Buckhead Betties, who so adamantly suggested that Lauren and I talk about a collaboration.

From day one, Lauren has been welcoming and so easy to work with. And when I first saw the renovated Martin's and the sunlit space that is going to be mine, I just knew I had to make the move to Summerfield. Plus, the generous outdoor seating area and expansive front and back porches at Martin's offer wonderful opportunities to showcase Melissa Creech Designs Indoor-Outdoor Pillows. Lauren's nice outdoor heaters will even allow us to comfortably linger while we browse and chat.

So many people enjoy browsing and feeling the pillow fabrics, often chatting about which pillows work best together. I spent a lot of time at Aubrey Home looking at fabric swatches and photos on people's phones to provide advice on which pillows would work best in their space. I loved the customer engagement and am so excited to have the opportunity to continue chatting in-person about pillows and home furnishings projects.

I'll be in and out frequently at Martin's Mercantile to add new pillows and help with pillow selection. If you know you want to chat then get in touch to schedule a time so we can meet there. Also, Melissa Creech Designs offers pillow shopping by appointment outside of normal store hours for Martin's Mercantile. Simply get in touch to schedule a time. Thankfully, Lauren and her ever-present, ever-helpful hubby, Darryl, plan to expand the operating days and hours once the weather warms up.

For Pillow Design Consultation or questions about custom pillows and home furnishing projects, please get in touch.

As we expand our reach to offer both our custom-made pillows at Martin's Mercantile and our hand-crafted, made-to-order pillows online, we look forward to sharing our expansive pillow collection, along with our expertise in fabric selection and custom pillow design with you.

If you're local, stop in and see us at Martin's Mercantile. Not local? Plan a road trip. It will be so worth it.

See you soon at Martin's Mercantile!
